DESCRIPTION:
APW - Waltham, Riverside Maximus, Model 1888, 21J, 16S, gold-filled original HC with 1899 presentation on cuvette, white enamel DS dial with distinctive script "Waltham, A.W.W.Co." signature correct to this mvt grade, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement, diamond endstones, raised gold jewel settings, gold train, ornate nickel damascene, s#7000309.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, few small specks of oxide to winding wheels and regulator, pallet jewel endstone a possible replacement not showing typical faceting pattern for diamond endstone; dial has some fine surface scratches within seconds-register, a minuscule surface nick near center, and a small hl and edge chip under bezel at 11; excellent hands; case front lift spring needs a nudge of help to open front lid, mvt has a bit of rattle within case in spite of tight case screw, case shows light wear, fine scratches and profuse micro-fine scratches, dent to left perimeter of front, shallow dent to upper left of rear and to corresponding position of cuvette, some spots of wear to brass to bottom of band and to pendant; tight bow, crown shows ample wear; clean glass crystal.
